At St Peter’s Primary School we know that PE plays an important role in the development of our children. PE leads to improved fitness, health and well-being, concentration, attitude and academic achievement.
It can help children:
Through PE, clubs and competitions children can develop the St Peter’s 5 Rs of: Relationships, Resourcefulness, Reflective, Risk taking and Resilience.
We aim to encourage a lifetime love of sport and keeping fit and encourage children to be the best that they can be.
PE during the week
At St Peter’s we offer 2 sessions of PE a week. For one of these sessions we follow the Real PE scheme of work. This focuses on the development of agility, balance and coordination, healthy competition and cooperative learning through a unique approach to teaching and learning in PE. In the other session we focus on more traditional sports specific skills and games.
